Music and art for the whole family to enjoy right on the beach of beautiful Coney Island in Kenora.  A vital part of the ARTSFEST celebrations!

KENORA DISTRICT FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS  

Established in Kenora by the Womens’ Institute this music festival has now grown to incorporate many of the other arts disciplines including drama and dance as well as the visual arts.  Check out their website for concert and festival programs during the year.

LAKE OF THE WOODS CONCERT GROUP

Professional concerts have been offered to Kenora and the surrounding area for over 45 years and include all types of music; from classical symphonies to folk groups.  All concerts are held at Knox United Church, check for performance times and ticket purchases online.

LAKE OF THE WOODS MUSEUM

An award winning museum, the Lake of the Woods Museum has been voted “one of the finest small museums in Canada”.  There are featured shows and events offered at different times of the year and the permanent collection tracing our lake history is open for viewing year round.

TRYLIGHT THEATRE

Kenora’s live theatre company has presented new plays and classic theatre and musical productions for over 25 years.  There are shows 2 to 3 times during the year.

KENORA ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING - ARTS HUB

For over 50 years KACL has provided services to the community advocating social equity for children and adults with developmental disabilities and adults with mental health needs.  The ARTS HUB is a place where adults of all abilities can develop their artistic interests.  Opened in 2009, it is Kenora’s first fully accessible gathering space dedicated to the arts.  Visual arts, music, writing and storytelling, culinary arts and gardening are open to all –emerging and established artists.  “Art takes on additional meaning when explored with others.

INGLENOOK ART STUDIO

For over 30 years, professional artist Irene McCuaig has offered art programs for children and workshops for adults throughout the year.  Workshops for adults are conducted by herself or arranged with other artists within, and outside the Kenora community.  Irene also offers a drop-in program where for a small fee artists can gather in her studio and work on their art while exchanging information and creative ideas. Check online for times and dates.

MIDNIGHT LOON GLASS  

Midnight Loon Glass offers small group (4 participants max.) glass workshops that introduce participants to the fundamental concepts and skills to create a glass piece.  Glass workshops are held at various times of the year and include fused glass, stained glass panel and glass mosaic techniques. (Age 15 and older)

Long arm custom quilting and sewing and quilting supplies are available at Born To Quilt.  Linda Clarke runs this studio and is a quilt artist and teacher.  

DANCEWORKS KENORA

DanceWorks Kenora offers dance instruction for all ages and levels across a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern/lyrical, and creative movement. The studio strives to provide quality dance instruction within a friendly and welcoming environment. Classes are offered throughout the year.
 

THE OLIVIA WHIDDON ACADEMY OF MUSIC

 

The Olivia Whiddon Academy of Music provides private and group voice and theory lessons to people of all ages and abilities in Kenora, Ontario.  All lessons are taught out of the Knox United Church choir room. The OWAM is continuing to create classes and workshops, as well as providing new opportunities in already established classes.  Students of the OWAM have won numerous awards, including, the Tudor Bowl, the Janet Ramchandar Memorial Award and the Vocal Rose Bowl.
